Why a New Party
The
country needs a new political party because the two major parties have
been captured by the extremes. The Democrats are controlled by the
extreme left and the Republicans are controlled by the extreme right. The vast majority of Americans are moderate. We need a party that
returns to traditional values, but offers new ideas that solve
contemporary problems. We need a party that focuses on integrity and
is not subservient to special interests and money.
Goals
- To become a major political party and make either the Democrats or Republicans a minor political party.
- To elect people to office.
- To spread throughout the country.
Further issues to be thought about and discussed
- Are there certain issues best decided by the Supreme Court?
For instance abortion, capital punishment, interpretation of rights. Once decided should the decisions be changed though the partisan selection of judges.
- Should we adopt different methods for selecting Supreme Court Judges? Can we make their selection nonpartisan?
- Should the Constitution be amended to create a unicameral legislature with 4 year terms? Would this get rid of gridlock?
- Should the Constitution be amended to allow a President unlimited terms? Would this eliminate the “lame-duck” presidency? Should the people not be trusted to vote out a bad president.
